This is a rather spacey album of Doom/Death from this young Seattle band. I normally love this kind of music when it is done well, and Un are not bad, but they have not really got a grip on their form yet. They play at the expected slllooowwww speed, and that is fine, but they do not have enough of a handle on their songwriting to maintain interest over the length of their compositions. Their guitar sound is good, and their riffs are heavy, but they don't build much tension and they don't do much more than sound kind of like riffs from much better bands. Decent background music, but if you try to really pay attention to this, you will fall asleep. |
