The Swedish Thrash Metal machine comes back again with all cylinders blazing... Warfect is the name of this relentlessly thrashing group. Scavengers is the title of these Swedish thrashers' third full-length album, and it gave me some thrash-asms – metaphorically speaking, of course. Warfect keep themselves busy on a harder, harsher and more violent side of fast-paced Thrash Metal that is very well executed and chock-full of intense and piercing riffs (at times very Slayer-esque) that relentlessly come at you from every direction. Warfect seem to love Teutonic-tinged Thrash, but they also have their soft spot for American-style Thrash in their very much punishing sound. Call this retro-Thrash or old school spirited Thrash; it really doesn't matter because Warfect know how to make your butt hurt severely (not THAT way though, ha!). The bottom line is Scavengers contains nearly 52 minutes of very frenzied, hook-filled, mean sounding and top-notch Thrash. |
