This is what I call short and sweet. Hades Almighty offer here Black Metal that, while not particularly raw, is just as effective in conveying a crushing, evil-sounding vibe. This EP sounds quite refined and the material has nothing to envy the better-known, symphonic Black Metal bands. Where this band does it right is how they introduce "pompous" elements without taking anything away from what Black Metal should be. In short, this might be refined, but it's not watered down by trying to show off too much. I wish this were a full album, but that's all the band could offer without compromising their sound, I'm perfectly OK with that. Three songs that just don't get old. |
