Old school, raw and dirty blackened Thrash has become more common in the past few years and it's hard to keep track of all the new bands. Bonehunter is one of those bands that has flown below my radar until now. They get most of the ingredients right - minimalistic guitars with the occasional swirly solo, a basic, DIY kind of recording that is a guaranteed turn off for people obsessed with polished production, and raucous vocals from beyond the grave. The guys play it fast and some headbanging and foot-tapping is absolutely guaranteed for fans of the genre. Bonehunter even manage to throw in some occasional haunting melodies in here, so it never gets boring. Ultimately it's an album that falls into the "good while it's on, but not much to remember it once it's over", but I still find it worth checking out as it's a good listen when I'm in the mood for this stuff.
