Slovenian thrashers Lintver have heard their Slayers, Testaments, Forbiddens, Exoduses, Vio-lences, etc., almost too well. Distorted Perception, their second album, is a real throwback full of familiar nuances to the early 80s period of American Thrash Metal. Most of the time Lintver operates between mid-and fast-paced Thrash Metal that's heavily riff orientated (but not all that riff-tastic), yet with a constant flow of unexpected rhythm changes and so forth... Sounds almost too familiar, doesn't it? But anyways, those comparisons don't bother me one damn bit as Lintver know what they do and count on their Thrash rock solid, without compromising one bit. They kind of want to play it all safe, but then again, there's nothing wrong with reminiscing the past, right? If you want to enjoy your daily dose of old school-tinged Thrash Metal, well executed but without any surprise factor, this might be something for you. |
