I love it when a band I think has potential steps up and delivers. Such is the case with Greece's The Silent Wedding and their second album, Enigma Eternal. When I reviewed their debut, Livin Experiments, back in 2013, the band's included weak songwriting and a flat sound. Both have been vastly improved on Enigma Eternal. The production is much warmer and the instruments sound sharper. The songwriting is better all-around but The Silent Wedding brought their A-game on "A Dream of Choices" and "Under the Veil of Grey." Both feature great riffs and keyboard support underscoring wonderfully catchy choruses. Dare I say I hear shades of Kamelot? Indeed, I do. The Silent Wedding have become players in the Power/Progressive field with Enigma Eternal. |
