Floridian Thrash kings Nasty Savage had an incredible run from 1985 to 1989, releasing a string of Thrash albums unlike anything else at the time that still hold up all these years later. Abstract Reality is among those albums, a brief EP released shortly after the wildly successful Indulgence.

Not really surprising, since Nasty Savage always had a trademark sound of technical songwriting that relied heavily on syncopation between the razor-sharp riffs that were as aggressive as they were adventurous and the oddball vocals of madman Nasty Ronnie, whose intimidating and uniquely phrased style astounds just as much as his occasional King Diamond-esque screams. Ronnie even stretches his melodic pipes on "Eromantic Vertigo", proving just how versatile a singer he really was and how fearless the band as a whole were with their songwriting. Closer "You Snooze, You Lose" is a clear highlight that has everything that makes this band rule, but really, every song on here is just more proof that you can't go wrong with old Nasty Savage. An excellent slice of top-notch Thrash that's just as essential as their full-lengths.
