I really enjoyed this band's first album, the meditative mood piece of Oracles, but I have not found their subsequent works as compelling, and this third disc does not reverse that trend. Despite this being very doomy and full of atmosphere, it is not as interesting as Oracles, and spends a lot of time just meandering around. There are more instruments being used here, and the addition of some female singing is a nice touch, but the overall compositions are even more shapeless than they used to be, and they drag on too long. Nice mood music, but it doesn't hold my attention. |
