Death Metal either works or it doesn't, and this shit fucking works. Riding a sound that owes as much to Bolt Thrower as Entombed and Dismember, Aussie band The Plague are not going to win any awards for originality, but this debut fucking kills anyway. The guitar sound is a spiked baseball bat of heaviness, the riffs are thugging, chugging slices of old-school Swedish Death worship, and the vocals of Mike Ryan are a good mix of LG Petrov bellow and Mille Petrozza screams. Nothing on here you have not heard before, but it's not often done this well.
