This is some old-schoolish black/thrash/speed type of a hybrid that's a little all over the place and doesn't seem to know what it wants to be just yet. I've been listening to this album quite a bit and realized a couple of things: (1) it's decent, if unremarkable, while it's on, (2) there's really nothing here that'll grab you, the album just chugs along whether it's the slower or the fastest parts, somehow achieving peak "monotonism." The vocals remind me a bit of both Wizzard (yes, the one with two "z") and Desaster. It's not quite that, but close enough that while listening to a lot of the vocal lines here I couldn't help but feel the urge to go and listen to those bands. This is not a bad album, but it comes off a little faceless. With that said, there's definitely good potential in there. |
