It's been a while since I treated myself to some Aggression. I've never been a big fan, but there are usually at least a few songs I like on each album. From Hell with Hate sees the band deliver an in-your-face hellfest of heavy, speedy, aggressive thrash that kicks quite a bit of ass for the most part. I'll get this right out of the way: I don't know what they were thinking when they added some female vocals on "Antichrist Devil Cunt" (gotta love the title). They sound so out of place, it's not funny. Completely ruin the vibe of the song, which is so fucking fast and aggressive, it still kind of my favourite despite the absurdity of the ill-placed vocals. I'm sure they make sense conceptually, but it is one of the worst uses of female vocals—or at least clean; equivalent male vocals wouldn't work either—I've ever heard. Seriously, what the fuck? This is not unlike what some death or black metal bands do when the singer reaaaallllyyyy wants to do some clean vocals and they put them in the worst place possible.

That aside, the album is just pure adrenaline, filled with high-octane thrash that destroys everything in its path and from which your speakers will need time to recover—and possibly some time in therapy. It's a dark album, with some quieter passages that can sound a little creepy and would fit well in some horror thriller soundtrack. I find this album is closer to pure thrash than some of their earlier material which was more crossoverish, and here you can still hear the old-school roots, but Aggression have moved on with the times and cranked it up a few notches with a more brutal, faster and more modern (in a good way) approach to thrash. I'd sure like to see a rerecording of "Antichrist Devil Cunt" without the aforementioned ill-fitting vocals; then there would be nothing here to make me cringe.
