I am a simple man. When you have a band named Zombie Riot, I am all but obligated to listen to you. These Germans are all about uncomplicated, good old-fashioned death metal with a tinge of thrash that's not too far removed from old Massacre. The music is largely raw, pedal to the metal blasting like the good old days, though they do slow down a bit in Bolt Thrower fashion on tracks like "Feed the Beast." The riffs are feral and sharp, the vocals are a nondescript grunt, and the songwriting has absolutely nothing original or exceptional to say, making this an album you'll enjoy as it riots, but also one that leaves no lasting impression. |
