Third album for this Aussie band after less than ten years of existence, so they have been productive. This is very slick, modern Death Metal with a touch of technicality and very tight arrangements. It's much more in the USDM mode than anything Euro-sounding, with quite techy drumming and pummeling riffs rather than melody and crunch. If anything, this reminds me a lot of the more recent Krisiun albums, presenting a whirlwind, relentless approach. I tend to prefer my extreme metal more underground than this, but even I can't argue with face-rippers like "Eunuch Maker" or "Blinding Oblivion." A band to watch, as they have the chops, even if they lack a bit when it comes to identity. |
