Amorphia are an Indian act from Kerala that's all about pure, unfiltered thrash ripped straight from 1985, right down to the raw yet punchy production that hits like a steel gauntlet to the face. Drawing heavily from early Slayer's frenetic riffing and Whiplash's breakneck aggression, Lethal Dose doesn't waste a second on filler and gets straight to the palm-muted chugs, blistering solos, and throat-shredding vocals that recall the days when thrash was more about danger than polish. This album won't win any awards for originality, but it's a furious, tightly executed ode to the bad old days that will leave old-school maniacs with wide grins and sore necks. |
