This is the second album from the United States' Fortress and seeing as there are several bands just in the state of California where these guys are from using the same moniker, adding founding guitarist Fili Bibiano's name to the band name is probably a good idea to keep things straight. As on their debut, Fortress play traditional heavy metal on Death Is Your Master, and this time they lean into Bibiano's neo-classical guitar work, which, along with new vocalist Juan Aguila's high, piercing vocals brings things firmly into the Yngwie Malmsteen arena. Soaring screams and dazzling solos are the highlights and can leave the songs themselves behind a bit and I can't honestly say any individual one knocked me out, though all are enjoyable. I'd put this in the same realm as Malmsteen albums like Trilogy and Eclipse in terms of overall style, sound, etc. If you like that kind of traditional heavy metal with its focus on the guitar work, Death Is Your Master is an album for you.
