Sons of Hades is a new band formed in 2023 and comprised of several veterans of the Greek metal scene. Their debut, Tombs of the Blind Dead, has the sharp, sawing guitars and raspy shouts that are the hallmarks of European thrash metal. There are some killer riffs, but the songwriting isn't overly varied, and I have trouble telling one song from the next, though that hardly matters to my neck muscles, which get sore regardless of which track is playing. These guys have the right idea and the skills to pull off something special; they just need catchier songs next time around to take the next step.
