Third album from Sacred Blood is enjoyable, if not as impressive as Alexandros. They have curbed the heaviness, so the guitars don't sound as good, and the epic melodies are not as epic as last time out. They are getting a better knack for catchy choruses, and this remains entertaining, even if it is not amazing. The band is getting the disparate elements of their style to mesh better: the epic interludes, the riffs, and the narration – but this time they did it by kind of smoothing it all out so it flows better, but lacks any really killer bits. Still, a solid album of Epic Metal in the classic Greek style. |
