Asmodée are one of those underground Black Metal bands from the '90s that released a single demo before vanishing off the face of the Earth that gets reissued from time to time, sometimes being hailed as a lost classic when it does. I wouldn't go that far, but it does serve as a fine microcosm of the old days of the French Black Metal scene. The production is raw and dirty, the playing chaotic, and the songwriting minimalistic while containing some damn solid riffs. This is limited to 333 copies, so I have no idea if you can still find this, but if you do come across it and you want a taste of old-school evil, it's worth getting. |
