This is pretty cool old-school heavy metal that's very reminiscent of many NWOBHM bands in the early '80s that focused on ear-friendly, catchy and fun music—nothing especially aggressive or dark, but rocking hard enough. The vocals are a bit of a weak point. They're sometimes way too forward and you can barely make out the music, sometimes the singer goes way over his abilities and it hurts the ears, and anything with the other guys chiming in sounds amateurish at best—not in a good way. The singer isn't bad, it's just that you have to know your limits. Other than that, as I said earlier, the music is relatively tame but rocks enough and it's got a good vibe, sometimes kind of Maiden-ish and some of the guitar solos just scream for you to grab your air guitar. It's nothing groundbreaking, but musically it's a good listen once you get past the vocals, which I can't help but think they did not listen to after recording. ;) |
