The UK's grinding black metallers are still are it and show no sign of slowing down or quieting down. A New Kind of Horror is another slab of sometimes insanely fast, weird-sounding black/grind hybrid with industrial undertones. Anaal Nathrakh are masters at bringing order to chaos—or maybe it's chaos to order, hard to say—and this album does not disappoint if you are into their stuff or don't mind straying into weirdness from time to time. The vocals can be quite disturbing, from raspy vocals to downright insane screams to clean vocals (which are, once again, so-so) and are up front and centre, sometimes stealing the show. Bottom line, if you were into this stuff, you should like A New Kind of Horror, but if you weren't a fan then this won't change your mind. Personally, Anaal Nathrakh are my fix of extreme weirdness.
