Fight Them All is the second full-length from France's Rising Steel. They play a chunky, thrashy style of power metal with fat guitars and gritty vocals that make the whole album pulse with headbanging attitude. "Metal Nation" has the sharp bite of Exodus while "Blackheart" trades more on the booming riffs and vocal hooks of later Accept or Mystic Prophecy. The songwriting alternates these styles for the most part and is a notch above average, though short of being truly memorable. Still, songs like "Malefice" kick some ass while they are on. Fight Them All breaks no new ground but is good fun, nevertheless. |
