This is going to be a short one, as Mortem Solis doesn't really take you anywhere Krisiun have taken you before. That's not a bad thing. This is one of the most consistent bands in death metal, with most of their albums being solid slabs of heavy, blasphemous death delivered with a healthy amount of speed. This is not their best one as nothing really sticks out. It just feels like the band is going through the motions and not making waves. That would be a negative thing for many bands, but with Krisiun it's still a guarantee of a good time while the album is on. This is probably not an album that will win them many new fans, but existing fans will certainly find something to like here. Sometimes you have a good thing going and sticking to a proven formula just works, and this is what we have here.
