We've seen quite a renovation in Edguy over the past few years, and their transformation from the second generation Helloween to full-on Heavy Metal heroes has been a little too good to believe. But we all knew success was waiting for them in droves around the corner, and now the young Power Metallers seem to be reaping the benefits, something you can hardly castigate them for. Still, with their fabulous Tinnitus Sanctus album having never left my stereo since it was unleashed late last year, I can only see the madness increasing, and now, after harboring the footage for over two years, the band have finally gotten around to releasing their new DVD, the wildly entertaining Fucking With Fire.

Now, anyone who happened to catch the band on their Rocket Ride tour will be familiar with the set list included in the full 100 minute live show recorded in Sao Paulo, which includes many Edguy standards including "Land of the Miracle", "Superheroes", "Babylon" and "Tears of a Mandrake", along with a couple of surprises in "Save Me", "Out of Control" and the twisting "Sacrifice". The editing and sound quality are superb, as is the footage itself, finding the band in fine form with vocalist extraordinaire Tobias Sammet raging across the stage like a man possessed by the spirits of the great frontmen of yore. As a bonus we get a 60 minute road movie and the requisite juvenile backstage antics the Germans are known for, with four of their promo videos chucked in for good measure – including the dark promo for latest single "Ministry of Saints".

As a whole, this is a great package. It's been a while since we've had any Edguy live material, and while I don't feel this is as complete as their double Burning Down The Opera album, Fucking With Fire is a good representation of a band on the rise, and a stately introduction to the majesty that is Edguy.
