It's been years since I last listened to Rhapsody - whenever that EP that followed "Dawn of Victory" was released. I found it boring and didn't bother checking out anything they released after that. Back on topic, this live album was recorded at the Metropolis in Montreal, Canada in June 2005. 11 songs clocking in at a little over 60 minutes is a bit short for what I believe was an headlining gig (I could be wrong on that one.) Listening to the album, it felt like it was shorter - I estimated about 40 minutes before I looked at the real running time. So essentially this doesn't drag too much - there's a bit of chatter with the crowd (mostly in French, a little in English) and other than a song ending on a short drum show off, there's no solos of any kind. The sound is excellent. I don't know if this was retouched extensively in the studio, but if not, then these guys can actually pull off their material in the live setting. Like 'em or not, one cannot deny that there's quite a bit going on in a Rhapsody song. I noticed that the singer's accent is even more noticeable here, too. :)

I can't say I'm crazy about the set-list, there's something like two songs I really like here. But I don't think I'll live to see the day where a live album's track listing satisfies everyone, so that's kind of a moot point. This is not a bad live album, but we're not talking about the likes of "Unleashed in the East", "Live at Hammersmith", "Live After Death" or "Alive in Athens" here: This is not exactly essential, but die hard fans of the band will want to grab this nonetheless.
